WOW. Fed judge expands class to all parents separated from their children after the El Paso pilot began in July 2017, as I first reported. Judge doesn’t immediately rule on remedy, but this is huge. The govnt said including them would ‘blow case into some other galaxy of task’
Now all these parents I reported on will be included!

It will be monumentous to find them all, but certainly possible. (Note: their kids have NOT been disappeared but likely with other relatives though some potentially in foster care.)

Another note is how EXPENSIVE this has been to taxpayers ALREADY with some government workers dedicated to this for months with just the limited class. Don’t know what the judge’s remedy will be, but this has already been a monumental cost of public money.

ICE confirms Friday it is slashing the number of families it can detain amid a record increase at the border that is forcing CBP to release most of them.
Here's my story from earlier this week: Families held at Karnes has been plummeting for months.

ICE says it will now hold 700 female adults at Karnes instead and that it is unable to transport the volume of families.
It is interesting timing indeed coming as @DHSgov has asked Congress to give it more detention beds and allow it to detain families for longer and as Trump has pressed an emergency at the border.

Realize I’m piling on to old takes here, but Prodigy just came on at this @sxsw event I’m at and I haven’t fully had a chance to process his passing but the band meant a lot to me in navigating a UK centric world to a US one, and I’ll always have a warm spot for the Firestarter
Also some massive nostalgia for the pop up warehouse raves and “idea” of freedom from late 90s they were so instrumental in.
Like last night I was at a film party of a friend and they were trying to market it as an “underground speakeasy,” and I was just like no. This is an Airbnb rented for marketing your film. I miss in some ways those crazy pop ups of the 90s (age me don’t care)

Many have noticed that "Beto" has few concrete positions. He talks a lot and says nothing, to rave reviews from the media and businesses. This thread will cover a real estate deal Beto handled when he was a Councilman to illustrate what his "left centrism" looks like in practice.
First, background on Beto's family. His mother was a business owner. His grandfather was the spokesperson for a defense contractor. His father was a political figure with deep ties to the Texas Democratic political machine. His home resembled an English Manor.
Beto's father was once embroiled in a minor scandal when sherrif's deputies discovered what appeared to be drugs while working on his personal vehicle. The nature of the substance was never discovered and no charges were filed because a captain ordered the evidence destroyed.
