Realize I’m piling on to old takes here, but Prodigy just came on at this @sxsw event I’m at and I haven’t fully had a chance to process his passing but the band meant a lot to me in navigating a UK centric world to a US one, and I’ll always have a warm spot for the Firestarter
Also some massive nostalgia for the pop up warehouse raves and “idea” of freedom from late 90s they were so instrumental in.
Like last night I was at a film party of a friend and they were trying to market it as an “underground speakeasy,” and I was just like no. This is an Airbnb rented for marketing your film. I miss in some ways those crazy pop ups of the 90s (age me don’t care)
