#LowCarbDenver #LowCarbDenver2019 conference was superb thanks to all the organizers and @JeffryGerberMD The audience was hungry for the information presented but the world is literally starving for this knowledge. The SAD a "starvation diet" and people overeat in desperation 1/n
to counteract the deleterious effects of its nutritional devastation. But it is a fools errand. And will ultimately fail. The physical and mental harm done by current nutritional orthodox can not be undone by more. Layering drugs and supplements upon conditions whose root 2/n
causes lay undiscovered will not solve the problem although they may enrich those who rise up to sell these phantasy solutions. And it appears more&more likely that persistent long term hyperinsulinemia in susceptible individuals&species at biologically inappropriate times 3/n
is responsible for a bewildering panoply of condition. Blindness to root causes is why so many curious and frustrated software and hardware engineers like @DaveKeto @FatEmperor @EngineerDiet @2ketodudes migrate to the nutritional space to apply their special and sorely 4/n
needed analytical and technical skills to what they see as just another problem to be solved. And they have been doing absolutely remarkable work. Some potentially sacrificing they long and short term physical and mental health to find a solution to the problem of why our 5/n
human wetware is currently malfunctioning and failing in such a spectacular way. I am sure many of them are stunned as to how far the failure modes have been allowed to persist. It is a subset of "weaponized autism" as they and others on the spectrum apply their skilsl and 6/n
persistence to solve the problem of the human mechanism not functioning optimally. And they will NEVER give up till the problem is solved. It is a multi generational problem. But it does not matter. It is a bug in the matrix and they and others cannot rest till they find the 7/n
most elegant solution. Of course they are not the only ones working on this problem. We have the shock troops or advance guard, the special forces of the movement exemplified by @DoctorTro and @SBakerMD who provide an essential service by probing for weakness that need to be 8/n
addressed. Of course the compassionate and judicious members have their place and special contributions and wisdom like @jen_unwin @lowcarbGP @davidludwigmd @GeorgiaEdeMD being to round out the group's diversity essential to its survival and its mission. Don't forget the 9/n
@fleroy1974 @gerdosi @paleoketogenic @drjasonfung and others too numerous to mention. Each plays his or her role. Of course no reformation is without its Galileo Galilei, Giordano Bruno or Joan d'Arc "taking one for the team" and suffering for our benefit. Dying so we may 11/n
these Christlike figures of course include @ProfTimNoakes @FructoseNo Atkins and other who burn with passion so powerful they are willing to be consumed or destroyed in service to their cause. And of course the camp followers and "anecdotes" whose healing and transformation 12/n
has been so miraculous and life changing and literally life saving. That they becoming pioneers and missionaries. These are a special group. They have been to the promised land but have returned to earth to spread the good news that salvation and redemption and heaven are 13/n
real and await those willing to take the first step to better health. The desperation and thirst of people was driven home to me flying out of Denver. Walking past the carb burners frantically eating to maintain a precarious homeostasis I boarded the airplane and sat across 14/n
a rare empty seat from a young woman. I mentioned the conference I had attended and she seemed receptive so I practiced the compassionate interview and civility touted by @jen_unwin @lowcarbGP in their role play at #LowCarbDenver I found out that what she wanted was not to 15/n
be constantly tired and lethargic and anxious and still look good in a bathing suit. However she had quite a few strikes against her and looked exhausted from swimming upstream against a currrent of nutritional nightmares. A factory floor physical laborer who worked night 16/n
shift 6 days a week she only had the energy to go home and sleep and could barely function at work. She eats only fast food deep fried and hi carb. Eating at least 7x per day. Often crash diets for summer or weddings she was currently 140 lbs at 5'8" slim build and liked her 17/n
current size. She denies being depressed but is anxious and smokes cigarettes. She ate spoonfuls of sugar as a child. Not now. She likes savory. Often eating chips she is thinking about her next meal. Tried to purge only once but didn't like it. Engaged to be married she 18/n
lives w fiancé and would like to "not be so tired, recreate after work and have home cooked meals". She had no idea that eating high carb food fried in industrial seed oils was a sub optimal nutritional strategy but had been on paleo diet to lose weight. She just got health 19/n
insurance and a Kaiser Permanente doctor that does phone consultations. She thinks she doesn't get enough protein. Has done Master Cleanse diet which is something involving water lemon juice and laxitives. She liked the idea of eating once a day and having boundless energy. 20/n
I suggested she try a carnivore diet with adequate salt&water and see what that felt like. I notice upon parting that she had extremely leathery and creased hands for a 23 yo. She did not mention her smoking to me but I saw her again at the taxi stand lighting a cigarette 21/n
So here we have someone literally starving in the midst of plenty. Miseducated and ill served by her society who provided her with no resources so she fishes around randomly for solutions none of which work. A sad picture. Yet how different is she from any of us? And what 22/n
responsibly do we have for her? We who randomly searching for a solution accidentally found one that actually worked? 23/23 END
