Seems like vaccines are getting a new PR campaign - targeted to Orthodox community - again - six months since measles outbreak here began.
Here are latest @nycHealthy numbers as of press release last night - up from 259 cases last week — and more than doubled from end of February when there were 121 cases.

He says people could face fines if they don’t comply.
“This is a blanket order for the Williamsburg neighborhood” - reiterates that yeshivas will be fined if they let unvaccinated kids in.
@NYCMayor says Emergency order it allows us to issue violations and fines.
“We have the option of closing them for a period of time,” @NYCMayor says of yeshivas if they are found to be in violation.
“Anyone who wants to get the vaccine can get it though a simple call to 311,” mayor says.
Dr Herminia Palacios says 8,000 more vaccines were given in Williamsburg and Borough Park - compared to last year.
People will be fined up to $1,000 if they don’t comply with order to vaccine, she says.
Palacios says they’ve gotten reports of “measles parties” intentionally exposing kids to virus.
“This is a public health emergency,” Palacios says, “thank goodness we haven’t seen a death yet.”
Dr Barboa says people will be identified through investigations of measles cases - parents of kids with measles could be fined.
“Getting vaccinated is far safer than getting the measles,” she says.
Order covers unvaccinated of all ages in these Williamsburg zip codes: 11205, 11206, 11211, 11249.

“Once they declare themselves we will interview all the folks they tell us they’ve come in contact with,” says Barboa on how they’ll track people who are not vaccinated.
“Those people are at risk... it’s a terrible thing in the middle of the outbreak,” says Dr Palacios of people who have compromised immune systems like those with cancer or small babies. “you are defacto making the decision for the people around you.”
They say they saw an uptick after Holiday Purim, Passover fast approaching.
