The Internet is facilitating a lot of unbundling where the rationale for X being expensive is that it comes with embedded Y which is valuable but difficult to charge for directly.

Bundlers typically are not thrilled about the unbundling, and often argue about undersupply of Y.
I often think these are arguments of convenience, because the Internet is also generally making it easy to purchase Y directly... and the global market for Y supports a couple of cottage providers but nothing material relative to the bundle.
Examples abound, but some of the bundling stories:

Credentialing and liberal arts education
Books and the environment that is a bookstore or library
Taxis and the universal service mandate
Regurgitated wire service wrapped in ads and original local reporting
