Additionally, a question yesterday was raised to me on Twitter about the alternate juror. I again am in the overflow room but was told it’s hard to tell who is on the jury and who is alternates because everyone is sat together in the jury box.
Witness one was back on the stand today. She talked about having to meet Raniere in person, have him take her photo and go along with whatever happened next. She said she did that meeting him at his home on Flintlock Lane. She says he took a photo of her naked on the bed.
She says after that he proceeded to “go down on her” saying it went on for a very long time and she did not want to do it and that she wanted it to stop. She says she felt she had to otherwise her collateral may be released. She says afterwards he called her brave and special.
She also says Raniere then told her she was “part of the inner circle.” Says she felt disgusted and ashamed. She says he positioned he for the photo which was largely focused on her opened legs. She says she “felt in a whole different realm of darkness.
The witness was given permission to eventually delete the photo, then told she must get it back. She was unable to do so and had to go back to Raniere’s home and take the photo again. She says she felt all around shame and began to weep on the stand again.
She says “everything was just lies and sects and darkness. It was just a horrible time.” She says she was “living a lie” as far as her marriage and blocked most of it out. Says she tried to avoid seeing Raniere in person. Says he texted her: “I wish you weren’t so scared of me.
She then talked about being asked to recruit others into DOS. Says she did so similar as to how Monica did for her and recruited two other women in. She also talked about providing additional collateral month to month.
She also described making a Vow to her master Monica. Says it’s involved a ceremony where she read a prepared statement to her and that Monica put a clasped necklace around her and called it a “dog collar.” Says this was meant to be a lifelong vow of commitment.
Says she met some of Monica’s other slaves and others within DOS. Says there was talk of the branding but she was initially told it would be a small tattoo. Monica said it would be Raniere’s initials melded with hers when the witness got it.
Monica was then branded and showed the witness her brand which ended up being more like a cut or wound than a tattoo. She says when she was recruiting other skates she felt disgusting about it. “The whole thing was awkward and horrible.”
The witnesses branding was being arranged but never happened. This is because it was set to happen right before the 5k race she was to run in. It never happened after that because that was the same weekend Sarah Edmonson and Mark Vicente left #NXIVM.
The witness says this is when the @frank_report started up and there were a lot of stories being written about DOS. She says she was very freaked out by all of this and scared. She says the readiness drills and assignments stopped and things slowed down majorly.
Shortly after this she says Raniere, Allison Mack, Bronfman, Monica and others all left the Albany area. Then the NYT article about the branding came out and there was a statement on the #NXIVM website saying Raniere was not involved. She says there also was a community meeting.
In March of 2018 the witness began talking with her husband about leaving #NXIVM which they eventually did and moved to England. But not before the FBI knocked on her door and started questioning her.
The witness says she recently received immunity for her testimony from the government. She says it’s been very hard for her to see herself as a victim in all of this but that she feels ashamed. We then watched a video of a Jness training led by Nancy Salzman.
