Working on a few more tweets for now from Thursday's #NXIVM proceedings. Hoping to work through this whole transcript by the time I get Monday's on Tuesday morning. This thread picks up after the mid-morning break.
Vicente, still under cross examination, says he returned to his home in LA following his first intensive. He says Nancy Salzman and Sara Bronfman kept trying to get him to come back to Albany and spend more time there. Says he eventually came back less than a year later.
Says he began to climb ranks and Nancy Salzman asked him to move to Albany. Vicente says he told her he wanted to be "a good man, a great man. I wanted to make films that would change the world." She told him he could do that in Albany and perhaps be mentored by Raniere.
Vicente planned to try living in Albany for a year. This all happening around 2006. Says he moved to an apartment in Knox Woods, a development in Clifton Park where many other NXIVM members lived. "It was all walking distance."
Says he lived with a man named Omar Boone, identifies a photo of him presented by the prosecution. Says eventually he moved to a residence on Twilight Drive just off of the Northway. Vicente identifies photographs of the home he lived in.
Says around 2013 he moved to a residence back in Knox Woods on Generals Way. He also identifies photographs of this location. Says Raniere lived at Flintlock Lane. (I know this to be less than 5 minutes from the location on Generals Way.)
The prosecution requests a sidebar here, this one is redacted from the transcript. (Likely part of the reason it took longer than usual for us to receive these documents.) Back from sidebar Vicente identifies photos of 8 Hale--another known NXIVM location.
Vicente confirms 8 Hale was known as "The Library." He says around 30-40 NXIVM members lived in Clifton Park. Next, he describes the New Karner Road HQ location where many of the classes took place. He identifies photos of this location as well.
Vicente says the building next door was also NXIVM owned and operated as the IT building. He says he believes Sara and Clare Bronfman own these locations. Says NXIVM also operated out of a former restaurant in Clifton Park that was renamed Apropos when purchases by Clare Bronfman
He says many trainings, including Jness trainings, were held at this location. He identifies a photo of the building. Now he discusses the surveillance equipment located at some NXIVM properties. He says he now believes this was to watch NXIVM members.
Vicente next describes "exchanges" within NXIVM. He says if you could not afford curriculum you could go into debt with the company and work it off, or you could mentor people to pay off your training.
Vicente says it was encourages to take new and high level classes. Says Raniere was seen as the creator of all curriculum. Vicente now identifies a photo of Jim Del Negro and says he was the leader of The Society of Protectors (SOP, an all mens group within NXIVM).
Says Raniere was said to be a renunciate, but believed he received 10% of net payments for scientific research. Says Raniere considered himself "a threat to society because of his ethical understanding of things."
Vicente talks now about the other companies within NXIVM, including many we've already discussed. Says there were more than 60 NXIVM related companies. Discusses executive board and identifies photos of the members.
Says eventually, in 2009, he became part of a new executive board. Mentions Raniere attended RPI and that's where he met Karen Unterreiner, another member of the exec board. Identifies Emiliano Salinas as head of NXIVM Mexico.
Vicente says Salinas' father is Carlos Salinas, an ex-president of Mexico. Now talks about properties purchased on an island in Fiji by Clare Bronfman. He then discusses many lawsuits against various people.
Says there were lawsuits against the Times Union newspaper and journalist Jim Odato, Vanity Fair, Rick Ross, Susan Dones (who I know to be someone who left NXIVM), and Barbara Bouchey (also left NXIVM).
Vicente describes a time when Clare Bronfman's father tried to destroy NXIVM using his wealth and she had caused a breach that she needed to heal from within the company. Vicente describes Clare's father as a billionaire.
Now, Vicente identifies Kathy Russell (another NXIVM defendant who previously pleaded guilty) as the accountant for the company. Vicente now says he was one of the founding members of SOP.
Vicente now talks about the scientific studies mentioned earlier. He says there were brain studies among other things. Prosecution asks about Brandon Porter, Vicente identifies him as a doctor. Says he was responsible for analyzing data from brain scans.
Now there is a brief sidebar. Agnifilo raises concern with going into testimony about Brandon Porter. Hajjar says if allowed Vicente will testify to "fright tests" and a video that involved decapitation and dismemberment of women in Mexico.
The decision is to take this up after the lunch break and deal with it then. Direct continues, Vicente talks more about 10% fees. Says Raniere told him so many companies existed so even if one company "gets destroyed" they would still be okay.
Now, Vicente talks about the company Raniere created before NXIVM/ESP called CBI (Consumer's Buyline). Says it was basically a buying club. Says then Raniere met Nancy Salzman and CBI was "destroyed by political forces."
Vicente says Raniere told him that Bill Clinton's "people" asked for money because Raniere was doing business in Arkansas. Says he refused, and that's when he and many attorney generals went after Raniere. This all happening in the 90s.
Everyone decides this is a good place to stop for lunch. They say sidebar is resolved--no one plans to bring that up on direct or cross. Lunch recess begins at 1:05.

Supporters of the LGBTQ community gathered outside of County Square ahead of the controversial re-vote on the sunset resolution. I’ll have the latest tonight on @WSPA7. Here’s my story from yesterday: wspa.com/news/greenvill…
County council is packed. There’s a capacity limit of 227 in this room and we are full. At least 50 people are also in the lobby of County Square.
They are keeping the doors of County Council open so those outside can hear what happens. Seems like more people are pouring in by the minute. Maybe 100 in the lobby at this point.

Closing arguments happening now.
Solicitor Brackett says he's not proving that Lewis committed adultery. Brackett says Lewis was set on Nabors "from the word go." Says that's not a crime, but that the crime was that Lewis used his office to make that happen.
Brackett says the taxpayers pay money for the sheriff to keep the public safe, not for Lewis to "get in Savanah Nabors' pants."
