my local federal judge had an opposite opinion on the same argument for defendants from the same organization. all four RAM defendants charged in the western district of virginia have pleaded guilty.
cole white is home in california awaiting sentencing. the guys we can only assume he snitched on are still behind bars.

suddenly that termination of prosecution agreement in their plea deals (a promise that the federal government would not also pursue charges against them in california) seems pretty meaningless.
i’m not as familiar with the CA case, so take this with a grain of salt, but when i spoke with the AUSA in the virginia RAM cases, he said if something happened to the federal case, the locality could still choose to pursue other criminal charges
