He was arrested last week. "Made a splash" on local news.

The man was originally facing 60 years. Prosecutors dropped the top count. So mandatory minimum dropped to 4 years. Judge imposed least he could. Two notes:

1.Prosecutors should have dismissed the case in the interest of justice
2. Mandatory minimum sentences must be abolished

Fact: Those armed w/ state power to deprive life & liberty, exact violence, surveil, & kill have the least amount of oversight & accountability.
Cops. ICE. Customs & border patrol. Prosecutors. Judges. Jail, prison, detention, parole, & probation officials. They demand consequences for others. But fight against any for themselves.
“Accountability.” “Punishment.” “Deterrence.” “Incapacitation.”

These “Law & Order” concepts are weaponized & imposed near-exclusively on traditionally marginalized people & communities. But they don’t bring about public safety. Don’t stop crime. They just inflict pain.

Let's start with some stats. It's been estimated that 90% of Aspies are unemployed, and an estimated 15-20% of the homeless population has Asperger's. There's been little work done on suicide frequency, but it's incredibly common, including among my personal friends who suffer.

Part 5. In November 2005, Koch Industries agree to buy Georgia-Pacific, located in Atlanta, a building products and paper maker company, for $13 billion dollars. Employees were given no choice and had to sell their stock in the company.

Georgia-Pacific owns a paper mill, pulp mill, plywood mill and a chemical plant in Crossett, Arkansas, a working town of approximately 5,200 residents. The mill is located in a small neighborhood where many working class African Americans live.
Over 1,000 people from the town are employed by Georgia-Pacific. They are all probably related to or know someone who works there.

A student, Matthew Ward, bought a self-cocking pistol in the morning, went to school and killed Schoolmaster Mr. Butler in front of his classmates for excessively punishing his brother the day before.

March 9, 1873 Salisbury, MD
After school, a teacher was walking with four small children. She was approached by a Mr. Hall and shot. The Schoolmaster ran out, but she was dead instantly. Hall threw himself in front of a train.

Ever since then, the talking point was corrected in that there were actually 18 school shootings in 45 days. And many in both the media and politics have used it as a rallying cry to make some legislative push to impose new restrictions on guns.
