📢 TODAY: More than 120 organizations urge the U.S. Senate to oppose the nomination of Ken Cuccinelli to serve as USCIS Director: americanprogress.org/press/release/…

The letter lists many examples of Cuccinelli’s anti-immigrant policies and rhetoric dating back to his 2005 support of a bill in the Virginia legislature that would have banned undocumented immigrants from enrolling in state colleges. bit.ly/2IFhy0C

Cuccinelli also introduced a bill in the Virginia Senate which would have allowed employers to fire any employee who doesn’t speak English and make that worker ineligible for unemployment benefits. bit.ly/2IxLXxR

As a Virginia State Senator, Cuccinelli led an effort to amend the Fourteenth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution to eliminate birthright citizenship.

As USCIS Director he’d be charged with adjudicating citizenship applications.

In 2012, Cuccinelli complained that under a DC ordinance you couldn’t “break up the families of the rats” like you can with immigrant families. With thousands of children separated from their parents in recent years, this dehumanizing language is a BIG🚩bit.ly/2WCilta

Just last fall, Cuccinelli gave an interview to SiriusXM’s Breitbart News Daily in which he suggested that border states had the right to use “war powers” to stop an “invasion” by Central American asylum seekers migrant caravan. bit.ly/2WBPbK5

Cuccinelli has spent his entire career promoting anti-immigrant policies and propagating dehumanizing rhetoric and ideas. If confirmed, he would work to undermine the goals of the very agency that he would be in charge of leading.
