Ireland now has a full blown SJW as the Government Minister with responsibility for Children and Asylum Seekers.
He wants to outlaw speech on the subject of migrant criminality.
Meet @rodericogorman.. ImageImage
You could say he is Ireland's equivalent of #AOC. ImageImage
As Minister, O'Gorman will oversee introduction of a new law streamlining the legal process for teenagers to change gender.

This topic is of particular interest to O'Gorman, he wrote a scholarly article(2004) on evolving legal position of Transsexuals:"A change will do you good" ImageImage

1. #DirectProvision Centres are operated by private companies. These are businesses run for profit. They are not charitable or NGO style structures.
2. These companies and their management are NOT skilled-trained experts in social-medical-physiological support.
3. Immediately, these centres must be taken into state control and be under direct oversight by HSE, Child Protection Agency. The issue of domestic abuse and women’s support is also important.

#BorderCrisis Peak, #Mexico Cooperation, and Judicial Wrangling

The year began with President Trump declaring a #NationalEmergency at the southern #Border.…
The #BorderCrisis escalated, and in May, nearly 133,000 #IllegalAliens were apprehended by #BorderPatrol, with a further 11,000 presenting at ports of entry without legal documentation.

By the end of fiscal 2019, almost 1 million people had entered the US illegally.
Over 600,000 of them were either individuals within a family unit or unaccompanied minors—both vulnerable populations that often arrived sick and required more care than #BorderPatrol was set up to provide.

LIVE now: PHR Asylum network member Dr. Todd @Schneberk testifies at @HomelandDems hearing on examining the human rights and legal implications of DHS' Remain in Mexico policy. #SaveAsylum #DefundHate
@Schneberk @HomelandDems My work has changed dramatically since the Trump administration rolled out MPP ... I regularly witness the dire impacts of the MPP and I am here to share my assessment that this program should be halted and defunded immediately.
@Schneberk @HomelandDems In February of this year, I was part of a PHR team that documented the cases of asylum seekers in Tijuana. These findings later formed the basis of a PHR report entitled, “If I went back, I would not survive.”…

Globally there are more than 65 million displaced people/ #refugees. A vast majority of these are feeing wars, conflicts and gross human rights abuses. Most of the refugees are hosted by countries outside Europe. /1

Some refugee hosting nations are among the poorer countries. #Turkey #Lebanon #Bangladesh #Jordan #Egypt #Sudan #Pakistan #Uganda #Iran #Ethiopia host majority of the global #refugees /2
When someone is fleeing war or torture or human rights abuses, the first and foremost duty of humanity is to open our doors to refugees. No good to let people die at our doorsteps while we discuss where and how #AsylumSeekers should be hosted.

Thread: Unsurprisingly, I remain disgusted at the illegal #MigrantPersecutionProtocols. My clients are so unbelievably traumatized at the hands of the US government they can barely speak for 5 minutes without breaking down completely.
One of my clients fled death threats from gangs in El Sal after the police told the gang she filed a report. When she arrived, she was abused by CBP. She’s so terrified of CBP that though she could likely get out of MPP, she can’t imagine even a few days detention by the US govt
Another client entered in July. He was never told why he was sent back to Mexico. He opposed the Venezuelan government and fled after being threatened and assaulted. He is being forced to wait FIVE MONTHS in Mexico before his first hearing in the US.

When Trump Tweets, he is using weapons grade "psych ops" on America through social media. His posts are meant to influence behavior. Example: his supporters. Look at his recent campaign targeting the Gang of 4 and recent campaign to../1
target @RepCummings using tweets attacking his district & communities. In both campaigns we stopped talking about his relationship with pedophile Jeffrey Epstein & we stopped talking about the #MuellerReport. We stopped talking about children in cages & #AsylumSeekers.../2
In both campaigns his supporters defended his attacks that the gang of 4 should go back to their countries. You heard the chants in Greenville, NC. Send her back. His supporters defended the attacks on Baltimore by agreeing it is rat infested. I saw Sen. Rick Scott of Fla..../3

Another heart-wrenching push-back story. #Greece #Evros #AsylumSeekers
A Turkish journo says they were beaten and pushed back by masked men at Turkish-Greek border on Friday evening.
Reporting from Greek-Turkish border: There are several more push-back reports in the region. Several groups of Turkish asylum seekers were reportedly beaten by masked men and pushed back to Turkey where they have been arrested.
8 people including Gul family reached Thourio, a Greek border town on April 28 at 5.30 am, according to witnesses. While sitting at a coffee house, they were detained by Greek police at around 9.40 a.m. They were taken to a police station and the group wanted to apply for asylum.

I have a client I met back in Artesia in July 2014. She and her children were detained for six months for seeking asylum in the US. Before attorneys got to Artesia, she was told she didn't pass her credible fear screening and wouldn't be able to apply for asylum.
She saw an immigration judge to have that decision reviewed. I represented her at that hearing, but was not allowed to speak on her behalf. We presented written evidence on her behalf but the judge would not read it.
The judge agreed with the asylum office that she could not seek asylum and she was ordered removed. Right before she was put on a plane back to Honduras, the judge decided to read my evidence. He agreed with my argument and reopened the case himself and allowed her to apply.

As a fmr immigration attorney let me be unambiguously clear. Crossing a boarder to claim asylum is *not* a crime; no under US or international law. Any child separated from a parent under that pretext is done so in direct contravention to the laws of the USA. ⚖ THREAD Pls RT.
If you came to the US without permission to apply for asylum, youmetjod of entry, whether legal or illegal *should* in no way effect your application process. Illegal entry is not a ground of inadmissibility for asylum applicants.
Unlike many other categories of applicants for immigration benefits, ppl seeking asylum in the US are not barred by having made an illegal entry; for example, sneaked across the U.S. border or overstaying a valid visa (one of the top ways people are in the country illegall).

Asylum-seekers in Texas are currently being stopped by border patrol before they can ask for asylum. This policy, as well as the separation of asylum-seeking kids from parents, is a VIOLATION OF INTERNATIONAL LAW. From @TexasMonthly:… (h/t @_karenjgonzalez)
I've had several people ask, so here's an in-depth thread about how this new policy violates international law: In 1948, after World War II, the US and several other countries signed the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.…
After WWII, we as a country (including my grandfather, a WWII vet) felt we could never allow human rights to be violated as they had been under Hitler; they were concerned about the thousands of refugees in Europe as well as the millions of people slaughtered in the Holocaust.
