Ah, robocalls. You probably get them multiple times a week, if not multiple times a day. With 4.7 billion robocalls last month, it's safe to say they've escalated from nuisance to disaster. Here's what you can do about it: 1/ wired.trib.al/KMiwS05
The four major wireless carriers all offer apps or services that block spam calls, or at least label them as suspicious, so you know not to pick up. And, for most of them at least, they're free to use. 2/ wired.trib.al/KMiwS05
There’s also third-party apps, if you’re willing to exchange your call data for some relief from the robots. RoboKiller ($1/month) and Nomorobo ($2/month) came out of anti-robocalling incubators run by the FTC a few years ago, and have grown in popularity since. 3/
This one’s easy. The FTC’s National Do Not Call Registry only focuses on telemarketing calls, but it can’t hurt. Just go to donotcall.gov 4/ wired.trib.al/KMiwS05
If all else fails, you can go into your settings and block calls manually, especially if the same number is spamming you over and over again. On both iOS and Android, it's fairly simple. 5/ wired.trib.al/KMiwS05
