I find when I hear people talk about not seeing any progress with practice there's a lot of focus on the physical. But so much of learning is in your head! seeing is one thing, understanding is another!

don't be afraid to reference, copy, or trace! I could write a whole other guide on how helpful those are. Just use common sense like you know...not stealing.

not everyone needs to see your work either, things can be just for you. when you trace or copy, that's art for you.

I learn a lot from action, so tracing has really helped me learn things. It's like my hands act as eyes (that sounds weird but I'll go with that). Each way works different depending how you best learn :D
