How Airbnb works:

1. Developers build 8000 luxury condo towers instead of rental units
2. No one can afford the luxury condos so rich people buy them up as investments
3. The units are then turned into what ppl actually want, rental property, except now expensive and unregulated
Optional step 4: Developers get mad at everyone for turning their useless buildings into shitty unregulated hotels but cannot do anything to stop it
Honestly "thing but expensive and unregulated" is basically every major web "innovation" in the last decade

you know what, fuck it, I'm going to post a whole thread about how skeevy and gazey as FUCK the third shantae game is because it bothers me every damn time I see ppl rah-rahing that series
So first of all, here's an early-game puzzle. You have to light up an inscription on some ruins. How do you do that? Well,

You make a creature drool so that you can trick a bunch of women into taking off their clothes and bathe in the drool, thinking it's a hot spring
later in the game, you acquire some "X-Ray Specs" from a boss, who pretty extensively makes it clear he was planning to use them to peep on women

what do you do with them? Why, you casually hand them off to literally the only major male character in the series, of course.

So.. sometime in the last two days, the US government page on changing gender designation on a passport was alterted, replacing all language referring to "Gender Designation" with "Sex Designation" & adding text explicitly specifying "sex change to male or female" across the page
For some reason, links to WPATH and the AMA were also removed from a paragraph talking about them
Beyond this, a small paragraph was added specifying that people "still in the process of sex transition" must continually reapply for limited validity passports w/ accompanying doctors' letters each time their 2-year passports expire.

Okay so I -did- in fact interrogate a valve employee at this meetup about the porn games removal. Thread incoming:
* They agree they need to work on communication but sounds like there's internal resistance to hiring specifically for it (this is me reading between the lines)
...got assurances this is something they want to work on but nothing concrete.
* says flagging of games is done by a team of contractors looking for criteria, not specifically targeting VNs or queer stuff. Asked about whether this criteria is public, they seemed uncertain
* they said removal/holding back games is coming from valve trying to comply with "vague" porn laws, as well as "certain groups" (not specified). They say that LGBT etc content is important to steam tho & they hope forthcoming content system will fix issues

I think I speak for many when I say Trump’s cabinet picks since he was sworn into office has been one major disappointment and disaster after another. No doubt Trump is a neophyte when it comes to politics but he’s learned much along the way.
I don’t know him and never will. But one thing I do know having been in the trenches full time for the past 30 years: His so-called trusted advisers have been feeding him to the wolves. Instead of draining the swamp his advisers have simply filled it back up with more of the same
Sessions,Tillerson, Mattis, Kirstjen Nielsen, Betsy DeVos, wife of Mitch McConnell, Transportation Secretary, Elaine Chow (Both of them crooks; see links at bottom of column); the list goes on. Not one of them should ever have been given jobs by Trump.

Let me start by saying I am TOTALLY rooting for them. The Chesters are working their asses off trying to build soil and grow crops and raise animals at Apricot Lane Farms. I grow OYSTERS and am WILDLY in favor of expensive food for rich people.
They are growing DIVERSE fruit & veg crops, incorporating animals, making soil health a priority and I say BRAVO. The question here is what this tells us about larger questions of SUSTAINABILITY.

In the post-civil-rights era there was a LOT of tension in newly integrated areas, where young white and black men faced off.

Most of Donald Trump’s businesses throughout his life have been to the real, productive economy what competitive eating contests are to sports. Golf courses, beauty pageants, & condos for rich people — also a bunch of others that failed. In the big picture, what do they matter?
The United States is a wealthy country — by most measures the richest in the history of the world. Someone starting off with a massive inheritance and able (legally or not) to evade most taxes can do pretty well for himself. Again, though, so what?
I suppose a more precise and perhaps more useful question is, what does Trump’s business career tell us about how he sees his supporters? — his customers, if we can use that analogy.
