The article in question accused Boot of generalizing about people by their skin color and portraying anyone who disagrees with him of being a white supremecist. Boot reacted to it by accusing National Review and the author of essentially being white surprmecists. Beyond parody.
The author specifically rejects white nationalism and white grievance politics. Further, he is calling out Boot w/ specific examples for generalizing about (white) people, but Boot portrays that rejection of bigotry as bigotry.

Boot, Rubin, Nichols etc. can't even argue substance anymore. They haven't just adopted the left's politics, but also the dishonest tactics that dominant certain sectors of the left.

They lie about their opponents and then count on each other to spread the lies.

I mean these are almost back to back tweets. He goes from praising Buckley as his childhood hero to agreeing with Tim Wise 's blatant smear against Buckley.

This is what I was talking about here:

Josh Marshall intentionally and dishonestly cut off a KC's quote to suggest he was saying something else. Instead of calling it out, even respected journalists like Tapper are repeating it a day later.
Here was my original criticism of the interview with the video linked:

You can watch the relevant part at 1:34. He was correctly explaining the historical context for the word "wretched" and how "public charge" requirement was consistent w those words.
They cut off the quote to (falsely) imply KC was arguing the language was only relevant to Europeans. Journalists should have called Marshall out for the distortions. Instead, a bunch of them (inc publications like daily beast and huff po) spread and copied the smear.

Putting aside the dishonest shot at Shapiro, the claim that 40% of Americans can't pay for a $400 emergency is a complete myth based on a misreading of one survey question: bloomberg.com/opinion/articl…
These guys can't get basic facts right, which is why they avoid debating substantive topics and instead have to distort what their political opponents believe and say.
If I intentionally cut the quote of a major figure on the left in half or lied about what they said and my tweet went viral, I would get a ton of pushback. When someone like Josh Marshall does it, he gets a bunch of retweets from mainstream journalists with large platforms.

Which isn't even true!

Again, the public charge requirement has existed a long time. A lot of poor immigrants have come here during that time. We came here with almost nothing. We got a little help from private donors at first, and then my parents each got 3 min wage jobs.
Their story is hardly unique. They were actually very reluctant to take ANY public assistance because they were warned it could hurt their chances of becoming citizens.

America didn't give us welfare, it gave us opportunity. That's what American immigration is about.
I really wish these journalists would talk to some actual immigrants. Or at least people who know the immigration system.

So @lukeobrien who calls himself a journalist has written an article for HuffPost containing severe fake news and libel about me, claiming that I have political opinions that I do not have in ANY WAY, SHAPE, OR FORM.

I will here in this thread document his lies about me.
In his article, @lukeobrien calls me a "white nationalist, racist and anti-semite".

- I do NOT believe in white nationalism.
- I'm not a racist, contrary I love all people regardless of skin color.
- I'm NOT an anti-semite. I have very good Jewish friends.
In fact, I spent just spent this whole weekend at a conference held by the largest European pro-Israel group (MIFF).

But hey, I guess @lukeobrien decided to ignore this and libel me anyway?

I'm not denying that tech can be manipulated to reflect and perpetuate racism, but I don't think that's what this is - at least not on Kroger's part.

That is not an "infrared" scanner, it's an RF detector that detects presence of RF tags in/on products...
These are RF tags - the things they used to embed in CD price tags, etc.

They're little antennae that trigger the sensor to sound the alarm when you walk past.
They're also being embedded in clothing from some retailers, both for loss prevention and inventory tracking, among other legitimate (and likely illegitimate) uses.
