Sondok, South Hamgyong Province is located at: 39.7425, 127.458333. That's an unusual location for a missile test. But there is an airfield there. That will make @DaveSchmerler happy.

@DaveSchmerler On August 6, North Korea launched two KN-23s from an "operational airbase" to verify "the reliability, security and actual war capacity of the new-type tactical guided weapon system." This *might* be something similar. Or not. We have to wait.

@DaveSchmerler 380 kilometers at a maximum altitude of 97 km. That's a ballistic trajectory, in contrast to the aeroballistic trajectories we've seen with KN-23 and new missile.

@DaveSchmerler According to Japan, one missile traveled 400 km, the other 350 km. That's slightly different from the ROK claim that both traveled 380 km.
