@Mortified Me from the time of said diary entries. I'm on the right. That's Betsy, one of my best friends (to this day). I am wearing my dad's sweater (knitted by my mum), as well as one of his shirts. Probably rolled-up jeans and Converse too. I dressed like a ragamuffin rockabilly boy.
@Mortified I almost never bought new clothes. It was all either vintage or cast-offs found at second-hand shops or raiding my dad's closet. And I was WIIIIIIIIIILDLY in love with the Band President.

There's so much that's good in UNBELIEVABLE -but these two scenes back to back:
1. off-duty cops playing pool/sharing tips
2. 2 detectives interviewing pissed-off mom at the door
is particularly good. 2 strong scenes - individually - but a powerhouse sequence when put together.
I've watched both scenes multiple times now, just to get a feel for how it operates. One leads to the other, so that's an obvious structure thing. The second scene is the result of the first scene. Script 101. But there's more, it's more intricate than that.
The cops - all women - playing pool - listening to Mia talk about her case - none of them are the "leads." So we get a sense of the team - the teamwork involved in an investigation - and, like any devoted professionals, you go out for drinks and you talk about ... work.

homestuck was pretty good, overall, but you had to be there
i had really liked problem sleuth, and discovered homestuck maybe three or four days into it, in april 2009, my junior year of high school.

it finished in april 2016, in my sophomore year of art school (community college null zone not included)
it was basically my primary fiction/media thing during that community college null zone. I checked the site every day, posted in the SA forum thread about it, and so on.

I don't think there's any experience exactly comparable to it. I haven't found anything.
