Theodore Olson: “Before the government can terminate DACA, the public deserves—and the law requires—that the government explain its decision clearly and truthfully. Instead, the government claims that DACA is unlawful, even though it is consistent with seventy years. . . . 3/7
. . . of similar deferred action immigration policies carried out by presidential administrations of both political parties. If the government wants to end this policy, DACA recipients and the public at large deserve a genuine explanation of the reasons, . . . 4/7
. . . so that the government can be held accountable for its actions.” 5/7
.@LCortesRomero statement: “DACA has brought stability, predictability, and dignity to me and to hundreds of thousands of other people, allowing us to support our families, further our educations, serve in the military, and contribute to our communities and the economy. . . . 6/7
The government never considered the hardships that we and our families and communities would endure without DACA. The Supreme Court should not allow the government to upend our lives by ending DACA without even considering these consequences.” 7/7.
