@SpeakerPelosi @evanasmith Pelosi says she started her day Tuesday, the day she declared a formal impeachment inquiry, with a call with @realDonaldTrump by talking about the gun background check bill and that Democrats "would not go away" until became law.
@SpeakerPelosi @evanasmith @realDonaldTrump Her previous resistant to such a declaration lay partially in how public opinion didn't support impeachment, but as details about Ukraine came out Pelosi says they had to pursue it to uphold the "oath of office."
To Trump, because of her experience and involvement writing the intelligence laws that protected and allowed the whistleblower complaint, Pelosi said, "you've come into my wheelhouse now."
Pelosi says @realdonaldTrump's actions were trying to pull the country closer to a monarchy, and that the country needs to be protected from "all enemies, foreign and domestic."
@realDonaldTrump .@SpeakerPelosi says if the "facts are persuasive to the American people, then they may be persuasive to the Republicans" and that she is not going to rely on support from Republicans to decide where the impeachment process goes.
