Article points out there's nothing partisan about such working arrangements. It's probably garnering this attention because Biden is the subject of the Trump team shenanigans: 
The interesting part of this isn't that he or she 'worked for' or with a Democrat, it's that they presumably have lots of knowledge about the situation on the ground (this is bad for Trump), since they were apparently there with Biden during their work. Probably has a lot to say!
