"NEVER buy a stock which is below its 200 day SMA (daily) or 50 SMA (weekly) however good the fundamentals are"

Note: In practice every stock has its nuances.

#Rule 1 Refinement -

"After a prolonged downtrend (use 3, 5, 8 years time-frame), NEVER get excited & buy as soon as it goes above the 200 SMA (daily) or 40/50 SMA weekly; BUT the SLOPE of the MA is still pointing downwards. Allow the MA to flatten"

At a minimum do this -

"Never BUY a #STAGE 1 stock & never HOLD a #STAGE 4 stock, however good the fundamentals are"

You can 'choose' to hold a #STAGE 3 stock since leading stocks may make another #STAGE 2 from there and start a fresh uptrend.
