Salty as fuck because a few months ago the IRS told me they never received my payment check so I sent another one, they cashed it, everything was fine.

I checked my account this morning and they just cashed the original check I sent.
my biggest fear when filing taxes was that my money was going to be lost in the mail and that I’d incur penalties. Wholetime my biggest fear should have been this entire scenario
I went into my account and saw that chunk of cash missing like WTF because I’m on a budget and saving up lmao
I hope calling them works this situation out quickly

Many people believe that pointing out differences among black people is divisive, but there is value in doing so. We can’t keep assuming we all want the same things or even see all the same things as problems. Perspective affects priorities.
I want to look at how diverse the black experience is through six categories: region, occupation and education, class and income, politics and ideology, religion, and lastly, sexuality and gender identity.
First up, region has ALWAYS played a role in shaping the black experience. Blackness is different everywhere you go.

On days you feel like tweeting instead of writing (and you actually haven’t written in a while) write those tweets down instead and go from there.
If the wanna-tweets had substance, you’ll write something cool and may even feel the need to edit and tweak into something fit for human consumption. If the wanna-tweets are stupid, you’ll write something stupid but atleast you’re writing lol

I’m a fifty something disabled woman, pretty representative of people who will be drug tested. I have adhd. A few months ago, my psychiatrist told me I would be drug tested, as part of the rules in WA for those on stimulant meds and who were diagnosed as adults. A thread.
2/ He gave me the testing form. I’m sure you know what this is for. No, I don’t. I’d been taking dexamphetamine for two years, without ever doing a test. He explained, but not well. I’m still not clear as to whether it’s to find out if I’m selling my dex and not taking it?
3/ So form in hand I rang around for an accessible piss testing place. Not so easy it turns out, which is weird given that they are medical places. Eventually I found one.

Integrity. Funny thing. My ex, a pos, lied to my kid sister the most atrocious lies, as to others. My sis, left bloody and thrown from a car, my ex not only denied helping her when I asked, heard me curse my father the same, then lied to my sis saying I said she deserved it.
Its probs the grossest action to me ever. She did this after beating me up, destroying everything I own, and leaving me behind a store after kicking me out because she is an abusing pos and I called her out one night. It was Valentines. She lied to my whole family, of abuse.
When she was actually the drug addict, the drunk, the abuser. She lied atrocios lies, that lasted 3 years. She told people I abused her for calling her a cunt for doing this. She LIED to everyone.

Was reminded of the grungy industrial aesthetic of several PS1-era horror games today. Most people don’t know about how great Alien: Resurrection was. So I’m gonna tell you. A thread (1/?)
The film came out in 97, but the game didn’t come out until 2001. It was delayed and never cancelled, despite being a full tie-in. With the PS2 and Xbox on the horizon, it was understandably quickly forgotten on release.
Which is unfortunate because it’s a hell of a game. It was the first FPS to use modern twin-stick controls as a default, beating Halo to market by several months. The controls are floaty but accurate enough for the games enemies.
