I *often* disagree with Nance's analyses, but someone needs to explain to Taibbi the criminal and counterintelligence distinction between "agent" and "asset" (and a "witting" and "unwitting" version of each), as Nance *does* know the difference and is choosing his words carefully
1/ I'm also pretty sure Taibbi doesn't know what constitutes "compromise"; it's a contextual term, rather than something out of RED DAWN. There are virtually infinite ways to become "compromised"—including something as simple as a foreign entity knowing you told a key public lie.
2/ I try not to discuss Trump in the terms Nance has, as I know it's easy for bad actors like Taibbi—or even well-intentioned non-journalists trying to make sense of things—to mistake them. Nance is saying much *less* here than he seems to be saying, but it *sounds* sensational.
3/ TBC, the *hope* is Taibbi doesn't know what agent, asset, witting, unwitting, or compromise mean—if he does, he's *deliberately* trying to get people riled up over a statement most researchers who've studied Trump's relationship with Russia would deem more or less mainstream.
