Hodgetts-Haley says he is speechless at the current method of “mud-slinging.” Alan Graves says he represents the change that the public on the doorstep want.
Hodgetts-Haley in response to a question on ageing populace says he would invest in better social and end of life care, citing his own grandmother “shipped” off for dementia care unavailable at home.
George says Labour will prioritise the triple lock, free TV listener, cap the pension age at 66 and look out for those ageing into poverty.
Lomax says isolation is a huge issue and adds that staff for ageing people are largely from the EU are leaving and there needs to be investment in the care. Graves says he also agrees with Lomax, and says he would slash the Foreign Aid budget to reduce “waste.”
Largan says adult social care is a huge issue and adds that there is strain, hoping to fund the sector on a cross-party basis - as it would be “expensive.”
Largan makes closing statements: “there are two outcomes - we will either end up with a hung Parliament going round in circles or a majority government. Think long and hard and vote Conservative.”
Graves says he is the only person guaranteed to deliver Brexit. He says “he will not let you down” and says PR needs to happen.
Hodgetts-Haley says this should not be a Brexit election but a climate change one for the sakes of our children.
Lomax says that hopefully Brexit will be resolved but fears it might not be, and we will continue to waste our resources trying to do so.
George says that since being unexpectedly elected, she wants practical common sense politics for Glossop: “It’s not an easy job - but I want to help people.”
