2nd Niger Bridge: this project was awarded in March, 2014 to our own Julius Berger at a cost of N130bn under Public Private Partnership (PPP) for 48months. As at January 17, 2015, a sum of N10bn has been spent as GEJ stated himself on his way to Onitsha to campaign for election 
2. What was awarded to Julius Berger then was in 4 phases which involves piling work and others. When Buhari sorry new FG took over, d main contract was awarded at a cost of N206b. But between Jan 2015 till May 29, 2015 no cash backing from Works Ministry to JB again
3. Issues arose & FG decided that funding 2nd Niger Bridge via normal budgetary can never complete d project . Don’t forget that d original concept was PPP. As usual, d private sector refused to commit their funds since it was election year.
4. Therefore FG convinced National Economic Council headed by VP statutorily agreed to set up Presidential Infrastructure Development Fund (PIDF) to be managed by Nigeria Sovereign Investment Authority. They approved $650m seed funding. NEC ( 36Govs are members)
5. NEC in Council also approved that $650m should be withdrawn from Nigeria Liquefied Natural Gas Dividend Account as seed funding for the PIDF . The projects to be funded are : 2nd Niger Bridge, Lagos - IBADAN Expressway; East -West road; Abuja -kano Road; Mambila Hydroelectric
6. With NEC arrangement & D sitting President must approve by law, this time, Na Buhari, he approved what all d Govs (PDP, APGA, APC, no red card movement Gov) agreed. Therefore, FG in FEC meeting awarded to Julius Berger a sum of N206b for the main work on d 2nd Niger Bridge
7. Delayed work on d bridge apart from funding was weather. During raining season, d River is well above 15m making it hard for JB to continue work. U need DIVERS &we have less DIVERS and u need them to build a bridge. So u have to wait for dry season to witness appreciable work
8. The communities also demanded N10b compensation before the work will continue . Normal thing in Nigeria and govt must respond to them also
9. The bridge is 1.6km long , 10.3km Highway and more funds was approved for PIDF again by NEC so that the project will not suffer. Private sector are also participating bcos of stability in govt environment. Have a nice weekend guys . Nigeria wins
