Who is good at math or not good at it?

This is not the right way to think about it. If you put me back in High School math I’d STILL be “bad” at it. I don’t get what dxdy is in a high school integral. Does anyone?? What I can tell you about is dx^dy in a grad school integral. 👍
Do you understand why imaginary numbers exist in high school or what they are good for? I couldn’t get it. Did you really get it? Really??

Yet Clifford Algebras generate them in graduate school to complete a part of representation theory. That I got! Suddenly a hidden 🌍 opened.
Do you really understand why a Möbius band has 1 side? What it means that the universe is expanding? Why we learn the quadratic formula but not the cubic one? Is 0 to the 0 = 1? As many rationals as integers?

I read my old books now & have no clue how I was supposed to “get it”.
Lastly, I learned that there are different types of mathematicians. Think of me as a very short basketball player who learned that I would never play center. Spud Webb played NBA but not that. Give up on what is beyond your nature. For me that was symbol-heavy/concept-lite math.
