Cops pursued this mother & her baby after she sped away from a traffic stop where police arrested her boyfriend. She had done nothing wrong. When cops pull her out of the car at gunpoint at the end, her baby is terrified.

But read the comments from #LivePD fans - unbelievable.
The police KNOW she has a baby in the car but they CHOOSE to engage in a high speed pursuit. They pull her out of the car at the end, throw her to the ground at gunpoint and cuff her. Her baby is screaming and terrified. The cops cause that extra trauma to her baby.
Let's think for a minute why she might have fled that traffic stop. She tells the cop she just wanted to get her baby to her grandmother's. Maybe she was afraid she was going to get arrested & someone was going to take her baby. Maybe she was scared she was going to be killed.
People in the comments saying she is evil. People talking about, "when will *THEY* learn." People praising the cop and not considering what really caused trauma to this baby.
People watching this stuff a couple of days after what happened outside Miami and not having the slightest critical perspective.

If I sound like I am stuck on this stuff, I kinda am. I never really paid it close attention until a few days ago. It's unbelievable.
PS Even if they didn't know she had a baby in the car with her, why would they engage in a high speed pursuit, when by their own admission she did nothing wrong? They're pursuing her for leaving the traffic stop.
AND if she had done something wrong - even if she was in possession of a gun or drugs - there is NO reason to engage in a high speed pursuit. They have her license plate. They have her boyfriend in custody. High speed pursuits hardly ever make sense.
I completely understand why she could think it was safer for her child to flee that traffic stop. This is what police do to Black mothers in this country for something as simple as sitting on the floor of a government office. nytimes.com/video/nyregion…
I don't think she knew the police would chase after her and once they did, she probably panicked and didn't know what to do.

People judging her when she looks so young and was likely trying to protect her baby and scared for her life, I really don't know what to say.
