The motherlode, way back before the trip down the escalator, was Russian money-laundering through anonymous shell accounts and high-end real estate.

As it was then, so it remains. Nothing has changed, it's just that the stakes are much higher now.

So get yourselves some top-flight security, and chase that gold ring of journalising you dreamed about at Columbia.

To repeat: the two things that gives Trump night sweats are Russians laundering money through high-end real estate, and the anonymous shell accounts they (and he) use to do it. Tax returns a close second.

So let's think this through. Let's say heretofore stenographic stringers decide to follow up on reporting done before Trump became Dear Leader, about his properties serving as money-laundering conduits for Russian mobsters and their ilk. Let's say they use FBI agents...

...on that beat, not in particular to Trump, but as general background. You know, the guys who were tasked with playing catch-up on OC and were pissing up a rope to get anyone to pay attention.

So what happens? Obvious. They are Deep State. They are "out to get 'Trump'."

Mind you, that's merely background stuff. You think Trump hates the FBI just because? Ha.

And the funniest part is that Trump's hero is Cohn. But Cohn played both ends of the spectrum. Suffice it to say that the Cohn that Trump new was not Hoover's bud.

But why am I even bothering. 99.9% of Americans don't know Trump was cozy with the Gambinos. And when confronted with the evidence, Trump supporters would say it's the cost of doing business in NY and NJ. But they can't quite explain away Roy Cohn, so they ignore Trump's hero.

Concrete high rise. Heh. That's more than buying no labor stoppage, that's some serious protection money and then some.

Anyway, I am a poor reciter of so much Trump/OC material from memory. Trump has been made since forever.

But again, creative piss prostitute kompromat was never necessary. He does his corruption in public (except for the accounting) and says it's perfect.

I just wish people who vote would do just a bit of due diligence. It's not like I'm pimping spirit-cooking insanity that so many Red Hats seem so fond of.

There's a lot of amazeball stuff about Trump's OC pedigree based on public records that doesn't involve believing in Seth Rich paranoid fantasies and pizza pedophile psychosis.

But people will believe what they want to. The Clinton murder victim body count, etc. Batshittery is all the rage.

P.S. None of this is a critique of journalists who actually practice journalism. If anything, it is to point them out as examples of what others should also be doing.
