J.K. Rowling has outed herself as transphobic.

The very first line of this tweet is offensive trash. Being trans is not a matter of wardrobe. It is a matter of identity.

Loved Harry Potter. I hate bigotry and intolerance far more.
This is the context.

A transphobic was fired for transphobic statements.

She filed suit and lost.

Rowling is siding with the transphobe... and revealing her cluelessness about gender identity in the process.

And for the people pouncing to say I misunderstood or overreacted, stop immediately.

When the topic is trans rights and a speaker opens with a comment about clothing, they have already told on themselves.

Gender identity isn’t about what you choose to wear that day.
And one last thing.

I reserve a particular anger and contempt for people who take discriminatory positions about issues that affect only their feelings but affect others’ entire lived experiences.

Transphobics are fundamentally selfish - and shitty.

Before we all start to scatter for the holidays, a personal one - which I will try to keep brief.

If you’ve been following me for a while or read my pinned thread, it won’t shock you to hear that this year has been A LOT for me personally.

1/
The year started with me reeling under the collective weight of a metric shit-ton of bad things.

February was a bottom of sorts. It was like the moment when you have bounced and tumbled down a cliffside and finally reach the canyon floor.

On the one hand, there’s some relief in having reached the end of a long, slow, plummet over rocks and gravel.

On the other hand, you just fell off a goddamn cliff.

And that hurts. And it hurts to get up.

Hear me out...

71% of people think Trump’s top aides should testify.

Pelosi could withhold sending the articles of impeachment to the Senate until McConnell agrees to demand their testimony.

He won’t.

Instead of the Repub-controlled Senate getting to dismiss quickly...

...they would suddenly look like the obstructionists blocking the American public from hearing from Trump’s deputies.

Americans want to hear from them.

If is politically untenable for McConnell to be seen as blocking their testimony and thus preventing trial.

Right now, Trump is seen as the owner of the obstruction.

If Pelosi refuses to kick impeachment to the Senate until McConnell commits to calling Mulvaney, Pompeo, Bolton, et al, the ownership shifts to McConnell.

And then we take to the streets for “Let Them Testify” protests.

Umm. This is the most nutbag communication ever put to paper by a United States president.

This is the “Loco Lawn Sprinkler” of a severe narcissist absolutely untethered from emotional regulation as an unavoidable public shaming looms.
The sign-off tells the entire story.

Trump knows that he is 24 hours away from infamy. He is on the train tracks of history with the locomotive of impeachment bearing down.

This letter is so very Narcissistic Personality Disorder.

My lord, they’ll put this in text books.
I have to say, this letter is so familiar to me, it’s almost comforting.

Trump’s handlers have been filtering his communications for months. That serves to water them down and obscure the cues required to read his emotional state.

This is the closest to unfiltered we’ve seen.

Trans fascism and its latest outburst, the Cancel Harry Potter crusade, look like inexplicable lunacy to normal people but it was all entirely predictable. The Left gravitates to whatever position gives it the best opportunity to use compulsive force against the most people.
Gay marriage had that appeal for them, but it was merely an appetizer for the feast to come. Opportunities for re-education and moral crusades were a big part of the gay marriage appeal to hardcore leftists. Lawsuits against bakers and such were very much a feature, not a bug.
Remember, always, that a primary goal of left-wing ideology is to make ordinary people see themselves as criminals, so they will accept the growth of the State, more punishment, and more coercive force. Utopia is a prison with left-wing wardens and guards.

First, to the idea of a burden. I’m not going to deal too much with the actual costs, though Trump has made much of the fact that trans people are ‘too expensive’ for the Pentagon. This he even claimed in his first tweets proposing the ban. 3/
