Prince Harry & Meghan Markle sought a front-page correction for a front-page story in the Sun – one it admitted was wrong.

Just days ago IPSO refused, siding with the newspaper and allowing it to bury its correction on page two.

How is this remotely OK.?

Iran says it will allow Boeing to inspect aircraft’s black box | Financial Times

There is disagreement as to whether the cause is a missile that caused the crash, or whether it might be pilot error or a fault within the plane. ft.com/content/42dc30…
Whilst US, Canadian and U.K. sources say that the evidence points towards a missile fired within Iran hitting the aircraft, probably in error, Iran asserts this is false and is “psychological warfare” and the Ukraine says whilst a rocket is not ruled out it is not confirmed.

347 people were in 2x 737 Max crashes in 2018/19. Turns out issues were concealed from regulators

Same plane that crashed over Iran.

In a 2017 exchange, an employee wrote: “This aeroplane is designed by clowns who in turn are supervised by monkeys.” ft.com/content/7785de…
“I still haven’t been forgiven by God for the covering up I did last year” one of the employees said in a 2018 message.
Turns out the company had also been using a cheaper method for training pilots using software rather than simulators.

1. A few words in response to Attorney General Bill Barr’s speech today, lambasting reform prosecutors.
2. I think Barr, other so-called “tough on crime” prosecutors, and the media get some critical things wrong about our prosecutor reform movement and what it stands for.
3. They want to depict us as “soft on crime,” lawless –or, more charitably, in favor of balancing “safety” with “justice.” This is a fundamental misunderstanding of what we stand for.

Let’s talk about the politics of fear. Trump uses fear to manipulate, to divide, to destroy. It is essential that our side not act out of fear. We must not fall into this trap.

1/ One of the Trump’s authoritarian goals is to exhaust us so thoroughly that we surrender. He seeks to sap our strength, our courage, our faith in the goodness of our fellow Americans. We must not let him.
2/ So often I see this: “No one is doing anything.” Or, “He is never held accountable.” Or, “He was already won.”

This is defeatist talk, and while I understand how anyone could have these thoughts—I do, too, sometimes—we must recognize that they are falsehoods.

After NAFTA failed to deliver the jobs and prosperity promised by Bill Clinton I watched in real time as my state began to decay and fall apart.

(I still wonder where the $ went)

2. Here’s my list of the top six from least bad to the worst. Hint: my ranking definitely won’t comport with yours, but I’ve got my reasons, as explained in this thread.
3. Number six: Jimmy Carter, POTUS #39 (1977-80). The peanut farmer from Plains, GA, who broke presidential decorum by wearing plaid farmer shirts on the campaign trail. I don’t recall the legacy media of the ‘70s (all Democrats) worrying like they do about DJT’s tweets!
