/ After rising from the second Sujud, there is a Sunnah called "Jilsatul istiraah" (Sitting of rest). It is done after one has risen from the second Sujud, & before he/she stands up to the next Raka'ah. It is a brief relaxation, one sits with the palms resting on the thigh.
/ It is a short sitting until all the limbs have relaxed, then you stand up. Some scholars say the Prophet (SAW) did this at old age, & it is more appropriate for those who need it (sick, old or one is tired). Some scholars insist it is a Sunnah & should be done regardless.
/ However, anyone you choose to do does not affect your Salaat. But certainly, one who does it has an additional reward over one who doesn't (opinion of Imam Shafa'i). Whether you sit after rising from the 2nd Sujud or not, the next thing is, you proceed to the next Raka'ah.
/ After standing up for the next Raka'ah, we repeat exactly what we did in the 1st Raka'ah. One can begin again with, "A'udhi billah, then Bismillah, recite the Fatihah, then Surah", or one can just begin with "Bismillah, then Fatihah, then Surah after saying Ameen..".,
/ and then assume the "A'udhu billah" he made in the 1st Raka'ah is enough till the end. NOTE THAT, it is highly recommended that you say "Aameen" whether you are the Imaam or you are praying behind an Imaam, or you are even praying alone. Also, there is no difference between
/ how men and women make their recitations in Salaat. Where we are to conceal recitation, we all must do the same. Where we are to make it aloud, we must all do the same. But Sunnah is to read loud enough to what you can hear if you are praying alone in Fajr, Maghrib & Isha'.
/ If you are an Imaam, do not make your recitations excessively long so that you don't inconvenience people. You can recite the entire Qura'an if you wish, when you are praying alone. After you have completed the recitation in the 2nd Raka'h, you make Ruku', then go for Sujud.
/ As explained earlier, make the first Sujud, recite the Azkaar mentioned earlier, rise & sit, recite the Azkaar mentioned earlier, then go for the second Sujud, recite the Azkaar mentioned earlier & make a lot of Du'a also in Sujud, then when you rise from the Sujud, you sit.
/ Assuming one is praying Zuhr, which has 4 Raka'ahs, it means he ll make two TASHAHHUD. The first Tashahhud is done after the first two Raka'ahs, and the second is done after the second two, and it will be the termination point of the Salaat. Now assuming we are praying Zuhr.
/ In the 1st Tashahhud (for a Salaat with 3 or 4 raka'ah), the sitting position is: Fold the left leg & sit of it, then pin the right leg & point the toes of the right leg towards the Qiblah. Then, spread your left palm of your thighs & do the following for the right hand:
/ The Prophet (SAW) folds the pinky & the ring fingers, then crosses the middle finger with the thumb, and he points to the Qiblah with the index finger as shown in frames 1 and 2. (NOTE: Khinsar is Pinky finger, Bunsar is Ring Finger, Wustaa is Middle Finger, Ibhaam is Thumb,
and Sabbaabah is the index finger). This is done with the right hand, while you spread the left on the left thigh. Then place your sight towards the index finger while you recite the Tashahhud as follows
"ATTAHIYYATU LILLAH, WASSALAWAATU WAT-TAYYIBAAT, ASSALAMU ALAIKA AYYUHAN NABIYY, WA RAHMATULLAHI WA BARAKAATUH, ASSALAMU ALAINAA WA ALA IBAADILLAHIS SALIHEEN, ASH-HADU AN LAA ILAAHA ILLALLAH, WA ASH-HADU ANNA MUHAMMADAN ABDUHU WA RASULUH".
/ This is the end of the first Tahiyyah. For a Salaat that has 3 or 4 Raka'ah, after this recitation of Tahiyya, the next thing is to stand up for the 3rd Raka'ah. So one will say ALLAHU AKBAR and proceed to the next Raka'ah.
/ Again, at this stage, one will raise the hands to the chest or ear level as we have discussed much earlier. Some scholars say one will raise the hands while still in the sitting position before one stands up, & some say you will raise the hands while you already stood up.
/ It is very important to NOTE; the 4 places we are expected to raise our hands during saying ALLAHU AKBAR are: (a) During saying Takbeeratil Ihraam (b) when going for ruku' in all the raka'hs, when rising from ruku' in all the rakahs & when standing from the first Tashahhud.
/ After one has successfully stood up, places the hands on the chest as discussed earlier, finished with the recitation of Fatihah and Surah, one goes to Ruku', then two Sujuds and the same Azkaar we have stated earlier during every position are the same for each Raka'ah.
/ For a salaat with 3 Raka'ah or 4, now we are at the last Tashahhud. If however it is a Salaat that has only two raka'ahs, then we will have only one Tashahhud and we will terminate the Salaat at the end of that Tashahhud. Now the Last Tashahhud:
