No other named source confirmed the conversation. Leahy declined to comment. Sanders didn’t comment, and Reid didn’t confirm the meeting (phrased in the article as “didn’t deny” of course).
After the article came out, Sanders and Reid spox, and Reid himself, gave comment to Devere. They all deny the conversation ever happened.
