1. quick thread on when press picks "narrative" for Dem candidates. (spoiler: they're almost always assigned by the GOP); pressrun.media/p/memo-to-medi…
2. the narratives are almost impossible to replace once they've been assigned, even if voters prove over and over that they don't care about narratives, like "gaffes". (see: Super Tuesday)
3. the narratives are assigned completely without context with regards to what's happening in the WH. i.e. 'OMG, Biden produces verbal missteps' is pounded by the media, even through Trump on many days cannot produce a single coherent sentence.
4. How many news articles and television reports have you seen/ heard about Trump "gaffes" and how they may stand in the way of his re-election bid? Probably the same number as I have, which is basically zero.

btw, a year ago I noted that attacks against Biden weren’t going to stick they way they did against Hillary bc he’s a man.
we still aren’t having honest discussion abt gender and politics in America
and i don't think Biden's primary opponents ever quite figured out that dynamic.

i.e. claiming a male politician is "corrupt" doesn't move the needle the way it does calling a woman "corrupt"

We wish to state in clear & unambiguous terms that the issue of e-voting and use of card readers was NEVER an issue for the President’s decision to decline assent to the Bill.
It is equally important that this issue was not raised either by the Executive or the Legislature in the recent reviews. Moreover, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) adoption of e-voting reforms is enshrined in the 2015 Amendment Act to the Electoral Reform Act.
