There was once a frail old wise man who sat atop a mountain dispensing wisdom to all who sought him out. His visitors were usually so swept with gratitude that they would hug him forcefully. Over time this took a toll on his health, so he posted a sign.

In November 1977 a group of conservative women met in Houston in protest of the International Women's Year conference being held at the same time in that city. The conservative gathering was quite a trip, featuring, for example, this Elvis impersonator.
The headliner at the event was, of course, Phyllis Schlafly...who made it abundantly clear what was wrong with the event across town.
Bob Dornan's speech, decrying the $5 million of federal funds spent on the IWY gathering and lamenting the "sin" that he encountered there, is quite the stemwinder.

The crying reference. The crier here, FWIW, once said a campaign rally that he's hoping to send Obama back to Kenya. Which is, if you'll excuse me for saying so, a racist thing to say.
A few more stories to add to the emo GOP racist thread. In 1966 Ronald Reagan met with a group of Black Republicans to try to secure their support. They told him that his support for Goldwater was concerning, because his campaign was bigoted. Reagan stormed out in tears.

I have always believed that when $TSLA finally heads for $TSLAQ territory, it would happen quickly. Here is why:

In any public war stock whose price is set solely by narrative creation and destruction, you will always have Missionaries propelling their respective Narratives. 1/
The bullish missionaries are now becoming fewer (and less credible), because the reputational risks of holding what MS alluded to as a “detonation” can no longer be stomached when the investment thesis hinges on “look at the stock price” or “have you driven one.” 2/
Simply put, you cannot retain clients when you tell them something that is patently false (the cars are cool, the stock works because the shares are up), where even a child can call it (the shares are down, the cars have problems). A classic Emperor’s Clothes moment. 3/
