Pinnaryi Vijayan is not PM material. Kerala is not a model state.

It is a state which has close to zero manufacturing, most of its revenue comes from citizens who do hopeless jobs in the Gulf and imports pretty much everything including milk and power

TN is far ahead of Kerala
Kerala is doing a good job in Healthcare. We all acknowledge it.

Just because of that one factor, Kerala is better than India. Pinnaryi Vijayan is the best PM ever and all is over jaalra.
Just to give you an interesting tidbit,

KTDC owns one hotel outside Kerala. And you know where it is. On Greams Road, near Apollo hospital in Chennai.

Most of the people who stay there are from Kerala and WB.

And most of them, have come to Apollo for treatment.

All Kerala industrialists go out of the way to not make any investments in Kerala.

The only guys who do invest in Kerala, are the ones who earn their dough in the Gulf. Or source of their money is sketchy at best.
Remember, in 2011, when TN announced free 20kg rice to all. You know where a lot of that rice was smuggled to??

Yes, Kerala. Where TN's free rice, was polished, branded and sold as a premium rice.

In 1940, when Britain was down and almost out, being bombed daily by the Germans, and had just been subjected to one of the most humbling defeats in Battle, Winston Churchill, gave the V for Victory symbol.

The symbol didn't drive the Germans away and didn't stop the bombing
But the Symbol gave Hope. Hope that someday, they will be victorious. These symbols helped the British endure, and after 5 years, win the war.

Sometimes, in times of despair you need Symbols of hope and rejuvenation.
To all those people, who are criticizing the 5 PM clap, remember, it was a symbol of hope.

And in times like these, people need them.

You may think it is trivial, but for many it signals that their govt is looking out for them. And if people lose hope, they lose everything.

If you can list out, the greatest wealth destroyers in India, over the last 10 years, the name right on top, has been Anil Ambani. Everything he touched, turned to s***

Quite a fall for someone, whose Father, is arguably one of Independent India's greatest wealth creators.
I still remember the brouhaha over the listing of Reliance Power. Articles on him running a marathon, being in the long game, etc etc, ensured it listed at a price over Rs 400 in 2008. Lakhs of people invested, believing the name.

Then This happened.

One thing that you guys shouldn't miss, if you go to Madurai, is to have Bovonto.

Not because it's a nice drink to have, which it is, but is one shining example of how Indian ingenuity, diversity and entrepreneurial spirit can defeat any big corporation.
Bovonto won the battle, which Parle lost/gave up/cashed out. And they defeated Coca Cola not once, twice, but three times.

Coke first launched the Fanta Grape. Bovonto Survived. Withdrew and came back With Shruti Hassan . No luck.

In between Pepsi launched their Miranda Grape
Failed again.

Finally Coke launched Color, a colloquial term given to Cold drinks in TN, because of Bovonto which was originally launched in 1916, and put Keerthy Suresh.

And they are struggling.

Meanwhile Bovonto just keeps going strength to strength.

While the PM is busy giving a sermon on why people should not leave home this Sunday and clap hands from their balcony, #Kerala has announced a very real Rs 20000 cr financial package. In other words, sorry we are in a hurry.

I spoke to sm1 who worked on this. My first que: WHY? This is prob Kerala's biggest aid, larger than the one after history's worst floods in '18& its repeat in '19. His reply: There is a possibility of the situation getting worse. So we are planning for the worst-case scenario.
What does this entail? The bulk of the Kerala package, Rs 140000 cr, is to clear various dues the govt owes to individuals and institutions. This could pump a lot of money into the system at a time when the economy is nearly paralysed.

As the work on building Amravati, the new capital city AP, comes to a grinding halt, concerns emerge about Amravati (APCRDA) bonds held by Franklin MF (~Rs. 1000 Cr) and Birla MF (Rs. ~300 Cr). Thread 1/11
During the Chandrababu Govt, Amravati received political as well as financial patronage. Now, with Jagan Reddy being incharge of the state, the project is in shambles. World Bank & ADB pulled out of the project and the Government is looking for reasons to scrap it. 2/n
The bonds issued to support the financing needs of the project were subscribed by Franklin MF and Birla MF. The bonds are guaranteed by the AP Govt but it's not sure if the Govt would keep servicing the bonds. The risk of lending to a state govt has again come to the fore. 3/11

#Kerala architects stood out in their mastery over wood sculpting. If you ask, why most of the temples in Kerala are not so architecturally minute in their making, the answer is: wood. Cheras largely worked with wood. This is the koothambalam of #haripad Subramanian temple.
Because the entire structure was made of wood most of the grand temples succumbed to fire accidents. It was easy for invaders to raze it too. But remnants of it exist only in a handful of temples. See this video. #haripadsubramanian temple.
