The revered condensed matter physicist Philip Anderson passed away yesterday at the age of 97. Here is a sampling of some of Anderson’s ideas that have propelled modern physics. (Thread)
Anderson won the 1977 Nobel Prize in Physics for his discovery of what is now called Anderson localization, a phenomenon in which some waves stay within a given “local” region rather than advancing freely.
Quanta covered new advances in the understanding of Anderson localization in 2017 in an article that later became an episode of the Quanta Science Podcast:

Another article and episode of the Quanta Science Podcast explored modern ideas about what might be happening inside high-temperature superconductors. These ideas build upon concepts that Anderson advanced in the 1980s.

Early life.. The Sayed was born in 1344 AH on the 15th of Sha’ban in the city of Rasht, Iran to a religious family. When he was 4 years old, he went alongside his father, Ayat. Sayed Fādhil al-Khilkhāli, his mother and his sister to the holy city of Najaf, Iraq.

ISIS taking sex slaves and raping them is an act sunnah taught by Muhammed himself. These people are merely just following the teachings of Islam, from Hadith, Sunnah and Quran. It's the hallmark of a ”good” jihadi!

Here is a well known hadith that deals directly with the topic of female slaves used for sexual purposes according to Sahih Bukhari.
The hadith is quite cold hearted as it doesn't address the emotional state of these captive women, shows no mercy for their feelings right after their men-folk captured or killed and then taken off to a foreign land in which they were inevitably traumatized, scared, and raped!

A Philosopher, Physician, Astronomer and one of most important #Jewish Scholars of all times.
Buried in Tiberias @Israel, upon final request to be buried in the ancient homeland

So far we learned about some pogroms 😠(1171 France, 1190 England) and Maïmōnídēs dying 😢(1204 Egypt).
JewishHistory is filled with sorrow and darkness but it gets better in the 2nd half of the 20th century 😉
