1/n Something worrisome. Remember how #COVID19 seems not to affect the young much? Turns out, we may be missing a big part of the picture.
2/ acroischemic lesions = acro-ischemic/-ischaemic lesions, acro- at the head or tip of extremities, ischemic = tissue disruption or death because of lack of oxygen (usually because of blood supply disruption). Toes in children in Italy:
#acroischemia::

4/ Question is: if children are having a small epidemic of #COVID19 acroischemic lesions, owing presumably to micro-thromboses, but then recovering, how much is vasculature, including the heart, permanently affected, risking showing up much later in life?
5/5 Something medicos need to also keep an eye on, despite the other pressing issues. It's also very much an open question: will we see a rash of heart-attacks in 20 and 30 years' time?

Another summation of the thread above: without a great deal of investigation, including long-term, we don't yet know if those not very vulnerable to #COVID19 may actually be much more vulnerable than we think.
Hey, @OpheliaBottom, pay attention to the next few tweets (BTW, all this info was available to you too; you only had to read the links given). Contrary to your claim; the *case-study* describes the case of one young boy, but also mentions other cases:
cc. @linguanumerate, @OpheliaBottom :: The authors of the single case-study describe very well exactly why they could *so far* only collect limited information (they are, of course, right in the middle of a huge emergency):
cc.@linguanumerate, @OpheliaBottom: & the (Spanish) General Council of Official Colleges of Podiatrists opened a registry of possible #COVID19 cases after registering many cases of mainly children & young people w/ such dermatological lesions on their feet
cgcop.es/2020/04/09/reg…
So, you know, looking at that (both Italy & Spain), no, it's NOT just based on a single patient. It's something for medicos to keep an eye out for. And if conjectures about *possibilities* of later complications disturb you, maybe stick to history.
Actually, no, that's not the only thing we can do. Medicos & carers can keep a weather-eye firmly on the look-out for such acro-ischemic lesions; not only do they probably mean #COVID19, they also mean needing to have the person afflicted fully checked.
