Alright #MedTwitter you asked, therefore you shall receive. Find below the results of me sifting through all of the replies and quoted retweets to the HP House poll that were visible to me.

Total N=1282!
First, we'll do each HP Houses.

Note: If a House had no self proclaimed members of a specific specialty, that specialty was not included in its graph.
GRYFFINDOR
SLYTHERIN
RAVENCLAW
HUFFLEPUFF (easily the most consistent House)
UNSORTED: this "House" included individuals who could not commit to one House, responded their specialty but did not indicate a House, and those who refused to submit a Hogwarts house (looking at you Durmstrang)
And now we move on to a breakdown by specialty. There are a lot of medical specialties......so some consolidation had to happen

Note: specialties with an N<2 did not receive their own pie chart and double boarded physicians were counted in both specialties

LETS GO!!!!
AN(A)ESTHESIOLOGY
CT SURG
DERM
EM
ENT
FM/GP
GEN SURG
IM
MED/PEDS
NEURO
NSGY
NURSES
OB
OPHTHO: despite the low N, easily one of the most consistent specialty.
ORTHO
PA
PATH
PEDS
PHARMACY
PM&R
PLASTICS
PSYCH
RADS
RAD/ONC
RESEARCHERS
SOCIAL WORK
UROLOGY #UroSoMe
VASCULAR
VET MED
UNDECIDED: this category included prematched individuals who responded their House but were unable to commit to a single specialty or a set of specialties that fit into one group
And thus the sorting ceremony is complete.
a few of my favorite unsorted House responses:
“Gryffinpuffclawtherin” <-- easily the best one.
“Ravenpuff”
“Durmstrung”
“refuse to be sorted into one house”
“Hufflepuff/Slytherin” <-- talk about polar opposites
“Gryffinclaw”
Anecdotally: individuals who were underrepresented Slytherins in their specialty typically subspecialized
Interestingly, but not surprisingly, for most of the poll in IM Gryffindor and Ravenclaw were neck and neck until the very end when Ravenclaw took a definite lead
#NurseTwitter is pretty awesome. Some of specialties they noted were:
Cardiology
Wound care
Memory care
Preoperative medicine for orthopedics
Ortho
CICU
L&D
Med-surg
Hepatology/liver transplant
Harm reduction
HIV/Aids care
Palliative
Reproductive health
PA specialties noted were:
Trauma ICU
IM
Peds
Ortho
A few research focuses were:
Neuro
Biophotonics
Microbio
Psych
I thought it was pretty telling how balanced this distribution was. Some of the specialty combo responses were:
"Uh I think Hem/Onc or GI, Sug Onc, or IM"
"ummm im hufflepuff and peds or child psych"
"EM or IM (something critical care related)"
"IM/Peds or FM"
"trauma surgery and forensic pathology"
"peds, psych and IM"
"surgery (peds or plastics??)"
"ID or path"
"surg/uro"
"pscyh/FM"
"trauma surg/ ortho trauma"
"peds or gen surg"
“i have no direction in life”
"EM or neuro"
"FM/psych"
"gen surg/ ortho"
"plastics/trauma
"ob/fam"
"IM/path"
"psych/EM/FM"
"peds/psych"
"derm/anesthesia"
"IM/FM"
"neuro/gastro"
"derm/ENT"
"ob/derm/anasthesia/em/trauma"
"neuro/psych"
"anaesthesia/ICM/Paeds/Cards/Research"
"gen surg/GI"
"family/peds"
"gen surg/ent/onc"
"fam med/psych/peds/rheum/onc/neuro/peds of all the aforementioned"
"nephro/uro"
"rads/preventative medicine"

and last but not least, just being @medburnbook #iykyk
For those of you who asked, the background of this was literally just a debate between @KeiMD, @DyvonWalker, and I about which house rules Urology.

#MedTwitter took our family spat and ran with it 🤣🤣🤣.
