Over the past week I’ve been getting so many calls from friends all over asking me to diagnose if they are #COVID infected. Honestly I’m no doctor but just an early test mule on the virus. My Q&A typically ranges as follows. I hope it helps some of you from needless paranoia.
1/n First thing to iron out is the difference between #regularflu Vs #COVIDflu. I’ve done some research and found this helpful table for you guys. 90% of you have just a regular flu owing to seasonal changes. Don’t panic ! However if you’re in the 10% read on.
2/n Assuming all your symptoms are #COVID in nature immediately #homequarantine in a separate room. Testing is hard to get by in #MaharashtraBachao #Delhi so don’t bother waiting for your turn. Begin treatment for novel Corona while taking care of not infecting others around
3/n Now comes the tricky part. Every Covid patient will have a separate story to tell as there is just #Nomethodtomadness. I had fever of only 99.8 for 2-3 days while some have it for 6-7 days. Again don’t panic. Start the cocktail of #allopathy #homeopathy & #ayurvedic Meds.
4/n I’ve been vocal about investing in a #pulseOximeter. You want to check the O2 levels 6-10 times a day. The only thing that separates you from a hospital is your lungs ! You want to stay healthy and not let #pneumonia set in.Old patients with #comorbidities stay watchful.
5/n The silver lining. From around Day 7 things start getting better. Only the #cough & #weakness persist for long. Besides that fever subsides. It’s very important that you stay at the fight and continue hydrating with warm water all day. The #bodyaches will persist for a while
6/n Day 14-20- Light at the end of the tunnel. Most cases will start turning #COVIDnegative by this time. But bear in mind the pain and aches will continue until day 30. The healing is very slow.
7/n Key things to avoid in this 15-30 day phase. 1) Relatives and sympathy givers. They will irritate the F out of you. So keep phones off. 2) Stop reading Google news and trivia. They will only male you paranoid. 3) #UniversityofWhatsapp and it’s multitude of forwarded crap.
90%-Stay healthy and consume a lot of essential #vitamins #zinc etc. Always remember #Preventionisbetterthancure. Lastly this disease is the mother lesson of #AtmanirbharBharatAbhiyan as we’ve been all failed by the state and Central governments. Don’t depend on them at all!
