1/ Dear Minister of Less Health @shandro;

Threatening to expose MD salaries instead of engaging in good faith bargaining is not useful to anyone except those of you hoping to profit from it.

Here's why I don't need to know.

2/ Disclosure: I am not in healthcare, although I have worked for a Canada Research Chair in healthcare .

I did 14 years of postsecondary education. Not only does that mean considerable debt, but also lost earning years. I spent most of my career as a self-employed contractor.

3/ During much of my career I had enough overhead (offices, employees) that my own take-home was under the poverty line.

I now make a reasonable living, but still with zero security. Which means I should be saving more. If I had the net income to save.

Fortunately, I have no

4/ dependants.

My doctors had long education journeys too, with both costs and liss of income opportunity. They too have expenses related to their practices - much higher expenses than mine were. Their billings are regulated, so unless you have proof of someone cheating, we

5/ already know what they are paid and what for. What we DON'T know is the other side of the equation.

Someone could point at my income (nowhere near the Sunshine List) and say it seems high to them (unlikely, but in theory LOL). They don't know the hours I work or the

6/ sacrifices I have made to serve Albertans in my fields.

Telling me what my doctors receive for their services does nothing to make the picture clear. If you negotiate in good faith and arrive at reasonable compensation - not in comparison to other jurisdictions but for the

7/ unique circumstances of being here in Alberta - that's all I need to know.

From what I've seen, doctors in Alberta provide much more value for taxpayer dollars than your phalanx of overpaid underqualified propagandists. If they aren't clearing at least as much per year as

8/ @UCPCaucus underqualified and incompetent Press Secretaries and Issues Managers, there's something wrong.

Having you threaten them with publication of their earnings is just more bullying from someone who stands to benefit from weakening our healthcare sector.

It's a symptom

9/ of your party's privatization ideology and your personal brand of inappropriate bullying in a portfolio where it seems as if you are working to maximize your own family's gain at the expense of Albertans.

So get back to the bargaining table, in good faith, or resign and let

10/ someone take over who is more competent and less likely to profit personally from the decisions being made.

Otherwise, it looks like more #UCPcorruption.

PS: Getting rid of the identified racists working for your caucus would be more useful than telling me what MDs make./
