Holy effin' data breach Batman, @webster with the YUGE story for @MNReformer on just how gigantic #Blueleaks really was.

I have a few points to bring up but every govt. official in MN needs to wake up to this, now.

(1/)
"Also released were personally identifying contact information for security personnel for critical infrastructure sites in Minnesota like nuclear power plants, chemical processing facilities, rail networks, pipelines, hospitals and campuses of major employers and schools."

2/
"Information on over 9,000 government and industry personnel dating back over 15 years were divulged in a breach of data from ICEFISHX, an intelligence sharing and emergency alert website..."

(con't)

3/
"...which is part of the Minnesota Fusion Center, the intelligence wing of the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension."

Huh. Ya mean the same Fusion Center whose powers were abused during the #GWOT to spy on people at @mallofamerica and stuff?

4/
Here is where things get a little more murky for me:

"Reformer verified that several of the cell phone numbers included in the data breach were accurate, including an assistant chief at Minneapolis FBI; the chief operating officer of the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis..."
"a military antiterrorism officer; an intelligence research specialist at the DEA; high-level security staff at a Minnesota nuclear power plant; and employees who operate the corporate command centers and cyber threat response groups at two large publicly-traded companies."

6/
Mostly the FBI chief. The picture is becoming more clear that FBI had assets on ground in MPLS day after #GeorgeFloyd murder, which were possibly giving a more clear picture of what was happening than others in fed govt who wanted to make the intel their "own."

7/
I just think something weird there.

And it became widely known by @BuzzFeedNews @JasonLeopold that DEA was in fact tracking cell phone calls during #GeorgeFloyd protests here. (connection??)

8/
And this:

"Spokespersons for the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension, Minnesota Homeland Security Emergency Management, and Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office were reached by phone and email for comment, but did not provide a response by the time of publication."

10/
Keeping with the overall continuum of public officials in @Hennepin and MN pretending not to be aware of #BlueLeaks and its massive ramifications. The time to pretend like you can't comment on "stolen" documents is a month past.

11/
@webster: "Aside from passwords, the information in the leak was not encrypted, suggesting major shortcomings in the information security practices of both Minnesota state government and its largest jurisdiction, Hennepin County."

Ouch @Hennepin.

12/
Really staggering to think about, and how in the world governments and officials here are going to handle it. If they even can at this point.
