Interesting take aways from Natnl Education Policy announced in the cabinet today.

Glad to see many of our suggestions incoporated.

School level reforms which appealed to me are

1. Flexible offline n online learning n assessment ( twice a yr). Digitally equipping all schools.

2. 10+2 structure changes to 5+3+3+4. Only from 6th -8th subjects will be introduced in multidisciplinary way. Coding to be made compulsory in lower classes itself.

3. 9th-12th- NO sub specific stream!any subject can be chosen by a child- academics,traditional arts,dance, music equal. No more as extra/co curricular.
4.Vernacular digilibrary, e learning something we discussed quite often. It's imperative we become responsible Digi citizens.

5.Vocational n skill based education to be integrated from 6th std.

6. Vernacular lang upto 5th to be taught or even upto 8th or higher.This helps in including marginalised ppl n to think n experience in their own lang

7. New Report card will hv assessment by: Self, peer, teacher, parent evaluation of child's skills till schooling is complete to help choose right career.
8. Reduced curriculum. Low stakes for board exams, twice a yr assessment
9. NTA and teacher assessment NFST n training

10.Glad that there's a v.important role for parents at each level.

11 Also a uniform fee slab.

12. uniform public n pvt curriculum.

Hope these changes based on recommendations of all gram Panchayats, state govts n cntre will ensure RTE to all sections.

Let this not just be on paper n a pipe dream
