In June 2019, an exasperated LIHKG forum user called for help to revoke foreign citizenship of senior HK officials for trampling on #Hongkongers’ freedom. In less than a month, like-minded volunteers established this advocacy group *Fight for Freedom. Stand with Hong Kong.* 2/7
Hongkongers have endearingly adopted both our names, "Laam Chau" in Cantonese, as protest slogans. In our unity and resolve, we along with our fellow compatriots have come this far - Yesterday, the @USTreasury announced sanction regime on 11 top #HKSAR and Chinese officials. 3/7
When we began our lobbying work to raise awareness of the violations of the 1984 Joint Declaration by the CCP, no one could have imagined the speed with which the US and international community reacted to the violation of #Hongkongers’ rights, freedom, and autonomy. 4/7
We remember the late nights preparing for the “Stand with Hong Kong. Power to the People” rally (Aug 2019); we wondered how the concept of #Magnitsky sanctions could be made accessible.
Fast forward 12 months, 🇺🇸 is now imposing sanction, and 🇬🇧 is preparing the details. 5/7

We welcome this development, but we know it's not victory.
It has come at a great price to countless #Hongkongers including frontliners, first-aiders, journalists, students, housewives - and those who perished. It's our collective effort to hold China accountable. 6/7

Laam Chau is a key philosophy adopted by Hongkongers. We are not seeking mutual destruction. But rather, if China is willing to crush our freedom to exploit Hong Kong, we will leverage all we have to bring CCP down with us.
