Important thread from someone I don't usually agree with which touches on the ACTUAL secret sauce in Biden's plan, which I actually forgot to mention in my own writeup of his proposal! 1/
Here's my writeup. I went in depth on a lot of his plan but somehow skipped over this critical sentence:

"If a family is covered by their employer but can get a better deal with the 8.5% premium cap, they can switch to a plan on the individual marketplace, too." 2/
Under the ACA as it stands today, medium & large businesses are required to provide group coverage for all employees working 30+ hours/week. Some have tried to skirt that, but for the most part they comply. 3/

#FLASHBACK: For younger folks, I'm ashamed to admit that there in the early 2000's, during the Bush Administration, the U.S. military/CIA routinely tortured captured soldiers. @JoeBiden cut through all the crap & made a very simple point during the hearings in the aftermath:

That quote from Biden--especially the understandable anger through his gritted teeth--has haunted me for 16 years. This is the first time I've dug it up to re-watch, however. THAT'S the @JoeBiden I want as President of the United States, and that's who we heard last night.

📣 OK, FOLKS: Right after the midterms, I decided to see if I could raise $250K by Nov. 2020 to help Democrats hold & flip seats at the federal & state level. Last spring I doubled that target to $500K. Last month I doubled it *again* to $1 MILLION.
