What's the fuss, you ask? Long story in a nutshell, groups often have an extremist side; for the Transgender community, theirs are Trans Rights Activists (TRAs) aka Gender Identity Campaigners (GICs). Pro-Trans allies found a red flag.

But, Trans Rights is a good thing, isn't it? Yes. Of course. Trans health, Trans mental health, medicare, etc. Trans identified individuals—social media influencers—can explain best the risks (see @BuckAngel @MsBlaireWhite @ScottNewgent @Rose_Of_Dawn).
What risks? The 2020 concerns are centred around child safety; medicalization of transitioning kids—given puberty blockers and/or testosterone/estrogen hormones and in doing so increasing heart disease, stroke, and sterility risks in children.

What does this have to do with Canada? In Canada, parents nationwide are concerned about the SOGI 123 (Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity) program in Canadian schools, and the influence of GI theory on very young children.
Canada has two official government petitions. 1) is against an exception (in an otherwise long overdue) Conversion Therapy ban; the GI exception may leave #Detrans no recourse, among other safeguarding concerns (see #BillC8 ).
