community facilities, various professional settings and in connection with religious events, it says. Most recently, the number of infections in Germany rose to more than 2000 new infections per day for the first time since April.
In 35 districts there is currently a seven-day incidence of over 25 cases per 100,000 inhabitants within one week. These include the urban district of Würzburg and the district of Cloppenburg, where the seven-day incidence is currently above the limit of 50 cases.

A man who has not yet been clearly identified but surrived was run over several times by suburban trains in a serious accident at Hamburg-Bergedorf station. According to a spokesperson for the federal police, the man, who was presumably intoxicated,
