A @YouGov survey found that in eight countries or city in Asia Pacific, #Taiwan is the only country where more people want @realDonaldTrump to win the presidential election, with 42% of the respondents favoring Trump while 30% favor Biden. today.yougov.com/topics/politic…
In other countries or city, Biden leads Trump with a sizable margin. 66% of the respondents in Singapore want Biden to win, whereas only 9% in Malaysia want Trump to win.
“When it comes to who people think will win the election, Trump’s figures improve in every market. Nevertheless, this is only enough to push him above Biden in Hong Kong, and only then by 47% to 45%.”
When it comes to perception of Trump, the Philippines and #Taiwan are the only two countries where Trump has a more positive perception than Biden. The numbers for Trump were at 59% and 60% in Taiwan and the Philippines.
As for both candidates impacts on each country, #Taiwan again is the only country where 45% of the people think Trump will have a more positive impact on Taiwan comparing to 33% thinking he will have a negative impact on Taiwan.
“Taiwanese people are also divided on the impact Trump has had on themselves personally, with 27% thinking it has been good and 29% feeling it has been bad.”
“When it comes to Joe Biden, the expectation is that his impact would be more positive than negative. Again, Taiwan and Hong Kong are the exceptions, with people in both places being split on whether the impact on themselves personally or where they live would be good or bad.”
