Update: #Taiwan's @MOFA_Taiwan has confirmed the incident took place on October 8, and it condemns the irrational behavior of the Chinese diplomats. MOFA said the Taiwanese personnel was injured to his head.

According to @MOFA_Taiwan, the two Chinese diplomats were scouting the situation outside the venue of #Taiwan's National Day celebration on October 8, then they left briefly and returned to the scene. They began to shout and made a scene.
Afterwards, the Chinese diplomats forced their way into the venue and personnel from the Taiwan Representative Office tried to stop them. Physical altercation broke out and the Taiwanese staff was reportedly injured to his head.
The Taipei Economic and Trade Office in Fiji immediately informed MOFA about the incident and they also contacted Fiji's Foreign Ministry and Police, sharing details of the incident with them. MOFA said they will monitor how Fiji handles the incident.
MOFA's Director of East Pacific Department said the Chinese diplomats were trying to force their way into the venue and took pictures as "evidence." They want to understand who are the politicians that have attended the event.
MOFA has informed other foreign representative offices, warning them about the increased aggression from Chinese diplomatic personnel.
According to #Taiwan MOFA spokeswoman Joanne Ou, the Chinese diplomats were taken away by Fiji police and they reportedly claimed that "they were attacked by the Taiwanese personnel."
