HATHRAS CASE:

The Supreme Court is scheduled to deliver its judgment today on a batch of pleas seeking Court monitored CBI probe in the Hathras case and transfer of trial to Delhi.

Judgement is expected at 12 PM today.

- On Monitoring of investigation:

SC says it is not necessary to divest #AllahabadHighCourt of the proceedings.

High Court to proceed to monitor the Investigation in the manner in which it desires.

- On Witness protection deployment:

SC asks CRPF to provide security to family of victim within one week as a "confidence building measure" to "allay apprehensions" and without casting aspersions on #UttarPradesh Police.

- On Transfer of trial outside of #UttarPradesh:

#SupremeCourt leaves the question of transfer of trial open for consideration in the event a need arises in the future.

SC says, with probe handed over to CBI, there would be "no room for apprehension at this stage".

- On disclosure of identity of victim in HC order:

#SupremeCourt requests #AllahabadHighCourt to delete mention of victim and her relationship with family members in order to avoid disclosure of identity.

Digital records records also requested to be morphed to avoid disclosure.
