@phumzileunwomen sets out our five goals for #WomenPeacePower:
1. #Participation: A radical shift in women’s meaningful participation in peacemaking, peacekeeping and peacebuilding, ensuring that women are fully involved in each and every peace and political process that the United Nations supports.
2. #HumanRights: The UN’s unconditional support for women’s human rights and women human rights defenders. The UN must be the loudest voice in their defense! Sexual and reproductive rights are core women's human rights. #WHRD #SRHR
3. #FeministPeace: Reversal of the upward trajectory of #military spending. The world spent $1.9 trillion last year on militaries and weapons! While governments struggle to fund essential services that underpin human security.
4. #Financing: Ensure a minimum of 15% of development assistance is dedicated to advancing gender equality, and 5x more investment in women’s organizations.
5. #Data: Bring about a gender data revolution on women, peace and security that reaches the general public, focuses on closing data gaps and increases our knowledge around today’s most pressing issues.
